Second time in Crater Lake

After visiting Vortex Oregon, we drove to Crater Lake. This is the second time we are there. Last year, we went there with Ah Ma, and we went there again with gong gong, popo and ah yi. We went back for the beautiful blue water and fantastic scenic views again.

The girls saw a squirrel while taking photo. Excited!

MS wearing popo's sunglasses!

Although it is summer, there is still snow along the road when we drove up to Crater Lake. We managed to visit three places in a day and reach home at almost 11pm. Tiring but fruitful day. Thanks to daddy as he had driven almost 300 miles for the day.

Exploring the House of Mystery

The famous circular area with its unique phenomena open to the public since 1930. The Oregon Vortex is a glimpse of a strange world where the improbable is the commonplace and everyday physical facts are reversed. It is located at beautiful Gold Hill. It is an area of naturally occurring visual and perceptual phenomena, which can be captured on film. No matter your education or profession you will find a challenge to all your accepted theories. Use the menu to the left to discover more.

The Oregon Vortex is a spherical field of force, half above the ground and half below the ground. The word "vortex" simply means a whirpool of force, like a whirling mass of water. Especially one in which a force of suction operates such as a whirlpool or a whirling mass of air or one in the form of a visible column or spiral such as a tornado.

A vortex, essentially a whirlpool of force, is the basic form of our universe. From our galaxy, whose vortex form we see as the countless suns of the Milky Way, throughout the gravitational vortex of our solar system, down to the vortex of an atom, the vortex form recurs throughout our world structure. The Phenomena that gives The Oregon Vortex its name are evident throughout the entire area. Nowhere in the circle do you normally stand erect. Inevitably the visitor assumes a posture that inclines toward magnetic north. The corona of The Vortex, as well as the minor vortices, discovered during the continuous study of The Vortex, are among the unique phenomena to be observed here.

As another person, on a level platform, recedes from you towards magnetic south, they appear taller. When they approach you, coming towards magnetic north, they become shorter. This is contrary to the laws of perspective, as we know it, and must be seen to be believed

Here, balls roll uphill, brooms stand on end, and people appear to grow and shrink inside its centerpiece.

It is also famous for "height change" as the relative height of the two people changes varying on where they stand. Most people believe this effect happens due to a distorted background which results in a forced perspective, as with an Ames room.

Those who were standing on the left hand side seems to be shorter.

So, is it optical illusions or unexplained mysteries?

Wildlife Safari

On the 31st of July, we went for a day trip to Wildlife Safari, Oregon Vortex and Crater Lake. It was really challenging to cover the threee places in one day, but we did it!
Wildlife Safari is a non-profit zoological park dedicated to conservation, education and research since its inception in 1972.

Wildlife Safari is a fun-filled family destination where we can view over 500 animals in their natural habitat roaming freely much as they do in the wild! Visitors to the park drive through a 4.5 mile trek to see animals from Africa, Asia and the America’s. This unique setting offers many opportunities to get up close and personal with animals large and small.

First, we saw Cheetah at the Petting Zoo.

LS on her "stroller", provided by the zoo. She was excited to be on her new stroller while exploring the petting zoo.

Flamingo

Goose

  White-handed Gibbon

Maned wolf

Saw some nice flowers in the petting zoo.

After that, we started our first drive-thru experience.

Oppsss.... A zebra was crossing the road.

Southern white rhino was resting there.

Diaperless at 32 months

During daddy's trip back to hometown in July, the three girls slept together. When MS saw ES & LS no longer wearing diapers, she told me that she does not want to wear diapers too before I put on the girls to sleep one night. Peer's influence did make a great impact.

From then onwards, she is diaperless at night time too. Just as simple as that, she is not wearing diapers during day and night now. On and off, she still wake up during midnight for pee.
