ES is six years old!

Before ES's birthday, I had a conversation with my " customer " on what type of cakes she intended to have during her birthday party. She told me she wanted a castle cake.....

As the kids will eat everything appears on the cake stand, I decided not to use fondant as they don'tt really like the taste. I made some flowers using royal icing the day before, and I decorated the cake with swiss meringue buttercream icing which is not as sweet as american buttercream. To make the cake looks like a castle, I use some ice cream cone, mashmallow and lastly watermelon as the doors and windows. Everything is edible, except the two princesses.

We celebrated ES's birthday on Sunday afternoon. Popo and Gong gong came all the way from Ipoh. Popo brought some birthday pau ( as in the photo ) and ah ma prepared the dishes for lunch.

haha, MS and LS are looking at the yummy food!

Happy birthday to ES.......

Can't see the birthday girl in the group photo, the cake was too high...

This is the most excited moment....

The kids were busy eating the cake....
watermelon, mashmallow, icing, ice cream cone, flowers made
by royal icing...

Busy opening presents after filled up her tummy with lunch and birthday cake.

Very pretty and creative cake! How did you make the square windows stick on the cake on the top tier?

Hi, Joyce... I just cut some watermelon into squares and stick it on the icing..

Oh, I'm surprised the watermelon slices can stick then. Usually they will slide down unless you use a toothpick or something to hold it in place.
