We went to Seattle on the 22nd of July. It took us about 3 1/2 hours drive to this largest city of Pacific Northwest region of North America. Sunny day, perfect for outing.
Arrived Space Needle around noon, Seattle's most recognizable landmark. It has been featured in the logo of the former Seattle SuperSonics NBA team, the Seattle Sounders MLS team, the television show Frasier and the backgrounds of the television series Dark Angel, Grey's Anatomy, The Killing and iCarly, and films such as It Happened at the World's Fair, Sleepless in Seattle, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, Love Happen and The Parallax View.
After a walk at the fairgrounds surrounding Space Needle, we went to Pike Place Market, a public market overlooking the Elliott Bay waterfront in Seattle. The Market opened August 17, 1907, and is one of the oldest continually operated public farmers' markets in the United States.
The Market is built on the edge of a steep hill, and consists of several lower levels located below the main level. Each features a variety of unique shops such as antique dealers. The upper street level contains fishmongers, fresh produce stands and craft stalls.
It is summer time. There are lots of fruits available....
Here we are in front of the pike place market.
The first starbucks in the world is located at Seattle, opened in 1971.
On the way to our next destination, we saw this guy on this yellow vehicle, caught everybody's attention.
